LED red light therapy has taken TikTok by storm with users raving about their favorite at-home devices with promises to improve skin texture, prevent the early onset of aging, and reduce the appearance of dark spots and hyperpigmentation. Even Kim Kardashian dished about gifting her loved ones face, neck, and hand masks for the holiday season – a notable stamp of approval from the owner of SKKN by Kim who notoriously stays ahead of the beauty maintenance trends.

LED, which stands for light-emitting diode, is regularly used by Dermatologists, Estheticians, and skincare professionals because of its gentle, yet highly effective ability to penetrate the many layers of the skin to reverse visible signs of aging, like fine lines and wrinkles, and improve overall texture and tone. When paired with blue light, it can kill acne-causing bacteria at the base layers of skin, preventing new blemishes from forming.
